Madhuri Dixit
Madhuri is an Indian actress who achieved fame for her role in Hum Aapke Hain Koun and Beta Saajan. Her career began in the early 1980s. Her character as Anil Kapoor in the film Tezaab earned her an enormous amount of attention. In the following film, Dil, Aamir Khan appeared alongside her. Born into a middle-class family in Mumbai she began learning to dance as a child. She ventured into acting as a youngster and struggled for some time as the majority of her initial films failed. The actress gained fame and was one of India's leading movie actresses. After her wedding, she took an absence from work before returning to entertainment. She was a key character in Gulaab Gang, a film about women's struggles in India. Dixit was nominated 15 times at the Filmfare Awards. She won eight of the awards. She was also honored with the Padma Shri the fourth highest civilian award in India. Her fame is based on her charitable work as well.
